Introduction: Sheryl Hugill

I didn’t use to drink beer at all.  I would do drinks like Woodchuck or Smirnoff Ice, but not really BEER beer… until I started dating Ricky.  Then, somehow… gradually… I became hooked.  When we went to Hawaii, Ricky introduced me to a place called Yard House, which carries somewhere around, oh, 100 beers on tap.  Wow.  I tried a local beer there from Maui Brewing Company called CoCoNut Porter.  Oh. My. God.  I think that is what sealed my love of beer.  This remains my very favorite beer to date, and unfortunately (or fortunately, otherwise I would drink it all the time!) it isn’t available anywhere except Hawaii and the west coast.

I wouldn’t call myself a beer connoisseur by any means, but I definitely have my own taste in brews and have tried beers from a variety of countries, including local beers while in Nicaragua, Germany, and Russia.  While my favorites tend to be porters and stouts, I also love IPAs and won’t turn down a good wheat beer, either.  Blue Moon is probably my “go-to” beer of choice.  I have accumulated a few more faves over the last couple of years and look forward to increasing that list as we embark on this journey.  Hey, with 1001 beers to try, you can’t help but have a few favorites, right?
