How much would you pay for a bottle of beer? $10? What about $20? Dare I say $100? You can buy a LOT of beer for $100, that’s for sure. Just think about how much beer you could buy for $2,000! That’s right… $2,000. That is how much Hair of the Dog is charging for a 12-ounce bottle of Dave. RateBeer posted a tweet about it earlier today:
HotD Dave just went on sale now for US$2000 for a 12 ounce bottle. Several have already been sold. http://t.co/CrjrTu3SMv

Dave is a barleywine coming in at 29% ABV. That is definitely somewhere you would want to sip on. It’s only 12 ounces, but you might also want to share it with your buddies. If I had a bottle of this, I would share it with Sheryl and Dakine. Dakine appreciates rare beer!
The beer was produced back in 1994 by freezing 300 gallons of the brewery’s flagship beer Adam several times reducing the batch size to less than 100 gallons. The beer first debuted in 1998 at the Toronado Barleywine Festival in San Francisco where it won the gold.
This beer is rare. There is no doubt about it. If you have money to burn, there are still a few bottles left. If you get a bottle, let me know. I would LOVE to help you drink it. Cheers!
