Somersault offers a refreshing change from blonde summer ales, with a relatively dry palate from a long, low-temperature mash, and a deliciously Belgian acidity at the finish. There is a slightly oily texture on this goldish-orange beer’s palate, and heaps of white foam, both partly due to the unorthodox addition of oats. Centennial hops are added late for a piney, citrusy aroma, and there is a suggestion of orange that pairs very nicely with the ever so slight lingering tartness. Full-flavored for its 5.2% ABV, though it is bright-filtered rather than bottle-conditioned.
